Ima wa ima. Kondo wa kondo.
Now is now. Next time is next time.
Recently I watched a travel vlog video on cafes and coffee shops around Asakusa Tokyo and they mentioned being able to photograph locations from scenes in their favorite move Perfect Days.
A film from Japan (Best Actor, Cannes Film Festival). I hadn’t heard of it but was intrigued and searched it out. And watched it. It is a very nice movie. I can recommend it.
There was a scene where Hirayama (main character) was telling his niece Niko, “ima wa ima, kondo wa kondo” basically translated to “now is now, next time is next time” that I interpreted to mean she should “live in the moment” which is something I’ve recently been told. So it resonates. Caught my attention.
